Learning to Let Go

Hello everyone,

I wanted to share an exciting update with you—I received the first physical copies of my book yesterday. Holding them felt amazing after all the hard work. There's still some editing to do, but seeing the result is truly rewarding.

After submitting the draft, I hit a rough patch with my bipolar disorder. It slowed me down, and I haven't managed to fix all the errors in the book yet. I hope to wrap up the edits before my holiday. If not, I'll take some time during the break to work on it. The holiday will also give me time to rest and recharge from being with all the people I plan to see.

Last week was quite tough. I realised I needed a full stop. I contacted the college where I'm taking a course on suicide and self-harm awareness to request a month-long break. I had to cancel many commitments and focus on myself. Missing a coaching session last Friday made it clear that I needed to simplify my life.

I've mentioned simplifying life in past newsletters. That's what I needed—cutting back and resting up.

Here's the tip for today:
Don't feel bad about cancelling things if you're overwhelmed. Your mind needs rest too.

When stressed, let go of everything non-essential. It was freeing once I cleared my schedule. Like when you clear your mind by writing in a journal for a few minutes—it helps you feel better.

Remember, simplify, simplify, simplify. It allows you to do more once you've rested.
